What is Natural Cadence?
A Different Way of Moving
Everything in life has movement to it and all movement has rhythm and cadence — a natural heartbeat, an ebb and flow, a rise and fall. Sometimes movement is fluid, pure, and clear; sometimes it is not, perturbed or out-of-sync and in need of refinement. Natural Cadence Movement is about observing, finding, and listening to these natural rhthyms in ourselves and in the world — being present with them, attuning to them, and consciously rewiring and rebalancing them, if necessary. Natural Cadence Movement is not about getting a workout in, denying or avoiding reality, or changing ourselves, but rather about becoming more present, connecting more deeply, and dancing harmoniously with life and all that it offers — finding an integrated state of unforced, authentic, and balanced flow where we are moving naturally and intuitively, being creative and making art with our bodies, and connecting deeply with nature, including our own. Natural Cadence Movement is not limited to one form of movement or solely to physical movement, but recognizes the universality of movement and pulls from the wisdom of many perspectives, focusing on what is fundamental amongst them. Natural Cadence Movement is for everyone and is in everyone, if we are willing to look. There is always more to learn, more to refine, and more to grow into.
